When a student is done with the work assigned there are many options of activities that he/she can do. These are listed on the anchor activity sheet on the front cover of a teacher given folder. Coupons can be earned for doing anchor activities if they are completed satisfactory.
The activities are listed below with a description of them.
Journal Writing: The student may choose from idea list or choose anything that he/she is interested in. Each entry must be dated before beginning to write and a minimum of 8 sentences but may be longer.
Independent Reading: The book must be a chapter book. The author, title, his is in school reading and so earns no reading calendar minutes but can earn coupons if the title, author and minutes are recorded on the form in the folder.
Play any teacher accepted game: List game title and minutes played on the form in the AAA folder. Before starting to play check with me to see if it is an appropriate game time.
Math Story Problem Solving: Choose a sheet or card, solve and turn in sheet or answer slip in folder with the Number of Problem Sheet in folder.
Search Ten Questions: Must answer at least 8 to 10 questions and then leave completed sheet in anchor folder.
Teacher Given Activities: Seasonal Activities and Independent worksheets which can be put into the AAA folder when completed.
Your child must remember to record anchor activities on the proper sheet in his/her folder in order to earn coupons for the work.
